MPS is the successor company to Municipal Planning Services (Alberta) Ltd. - originally formed in Edmonton in 1996 to provide subdivision and development services to small urban and rural municipalities that previously were part of regional planning commissions. 

In 2009 the company was purchased from the founder and restructured to allow for the expansion of the many planning services that we now provide our municipal, government, and not-for-profit clients.  Over time, MPS has diversified and grown to become more adaptable to meet the changing needs of our clients and to engage in a broader array of planning project work. These changes have resulted in the expansion of our team to include additional planners, designers and planning technicians.

MPS's well-rounded team offers a range of consulting services to clients exclusively in the public and non-profit sectors throughout Alberta. Planning work is supported by in-house services that include GIS mapping, graphics production, project management, research, advocacy, and community consultation. For projects that require expertise in other areas, our relationships with qualified professionals allow us to seamlessly form interdisciplinary teams.
